Our rituals are visualizations… vivid journeys. A really vivid and symbolically rich visualization "journey" can be VERY powerful, and is rather similar to having a story read to you. Everyone can participate and "paint" the story together… It's really beautiful to experience.
The Sacred Grove does not "practice" any one religion or specific path. Some sisters are Wiccan, some are Shamans, Druids, some are of the Fae, and others remain unlabeled. We believe in Magic and feel deeply drawn toward the "Goddess", and even that means something different to each of us. Since we represent and honor strong individuality, our rituals are very loose in structure. We do not "call quarters", nor cast a formal circle as a group. These activities should be performed privately prior to the group gathering, if you feel inclined. We've tried including some of these elements in the past, and while they are often lovely, they also can create a bit of an "Oh no! What do I do?" feeling for those who do not practice the same path. Therefore, we try to minimize path-specific elements, which can lead to discomfort and confusion for some sisters.
Online rituals are VERY easy to accomplish with great success and Awe. It's SO rewarding to participate in an online ritual… Especially the ones where all the members attending "wing it" in meditative states and build upon a visualization until it's just… WOW… Hard to explain, so you'll just have to trust me. ;)
Sometimes (rarely) online rituals come to a speedy halt if the chat room freezes… in which case we pout a bit, figure it was meant to be… and shuffle to bed.
Please DO read the ritual outlines and visualizations beforehand, especially if you are choosing to attend the online group ritual. This way, if any technical glitches occur, you will have an idea of what is supposed to be happening. I cannot begin to express how important and handy it is to pre-read the ritual.
I hope I've covered it all… and that this all sounds "OK". Please reply with any questions, additions, or subtractions that you feel would benefit our Grove Ways of Ritual.
Love,
~Jenai
