~~~Nightly Peace Minute~~~
When?
Every evening at 10 PM Rolling Thunder Style. In case you are
unfamiliar with "rolling thunder"... it's when a scattered group
of people performs an activity at the same time within their time
zones. In other words... it would be 10 PM for everyone. No
adjustments for geography. If you can not stick to the exact
time, no worries! Participating in this minute any time of the
day is perfectly fine.
What what huh?
Brought to us from Deborah… The Grove dedicates just one minute
to sending the intent of peace and protection. Of course you may
send the intent for longer than one minute… but just one minute
is all that we ask. Seven minutes a week…. I know the Sisters of
the Sacred Grove can and will do this. :)
There is a history behind this practice… A group has continually practiced this, non-stop, since its inception during World War II, in faith, secrecy, and trust. During the War, the people of Britain were asked to dedicate just one minute to praying for peace. This act was supported by many political leaders of the time, including Sir Winston Churchill (himself a Druid), King George, and President Roosevelt. Big Ben’s bells would ring out nightly, signaling the time for the Silent Minute. The BBC would also announce this time, for those living outside London.
A Nazi official was once asked his opinion for Germany’s loss in the War. His explanation was, "During the war, you had a secret weapon for which we could find no counter measure, which we did not understand, but it was very powerful. It was associated with the striking of the Big Ben each evening. I believe you called it the `Silent Minute.'"
Pay special attention to “intent”, as this is the key. With your inner-voice speak, “peace,”… over and over...feeling it...being it..... inhaling peace into your soul, and exhaling it out to the universe. This becomes a deep part of you and what you offer the Whole all day, everyday.
Joyous Peaceful Blessings,
